Austerity stalks the EU land, but for those that live in the ivory towers of Brussels the gravy train keeps chugging along.

The EU that imposes all sorts of Green diktats and taxes on the long suffering British public has decided that its own officials are above such limitations and concerns. They are too important for such restrictions to apply to them.

[adsenseyu1]They are to be given access to private jets at our expense to fly around the world on their oh so important business.

A deal has been struck by the EU with a Belgian firm ‘Abelag’ to put Falcon 7X and Boeing 737 jets at the disposal of the likes of Baroness Ashton, Jose Manuel Barroso and Herman van Rompuy says the Express.

The EU also wants an increase of 7% on its budget taking it to some £114 billion. And this little jet deal will cost about £10.3 million over four years. One wonders if they will have the EU logo emblazoned all over them too.

The Express also recounts how Ashton and Rompuy used two separate jets to go from the same place to the same meeting last year, but the flights were just four hours apart.

UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, said “They are just plain stupid not to see how this looks. They look like the French aristocracy just before the revolution. While the public and national governments are making cuts to their budgets it is an insult to think that these unelected Eurocrats are improving their lives at our expense.”

Tory MP Daniel Hannan and Robert Oxley of the Taxpayers’ Alliance also weighed in pointing out that these out of touch (never were in touch) EU-made aristocrats are getting fat on the land whilst ordinary folk are tightening their belts.

The problem is that these Eurocrats show no sign of understanding their stupidity or changing. The real question is will the UK public ever get angry enough to get this whole sorry mess ejected from our lives?
